Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama used the seat of government to promote fraudulent individuals such as Elvis Afriyie Ankrah.
The Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stated that Mr. Mahama sought to legitimize corruption by promoting and consoling any of his appointees who were discovered engaging in the act.
Recently, Mr. Mahama was overheard criticizing President Akufo-Addo's struggle against corruption in the public sector.
The former president asserted that, despite President Akufo-Addo's assertion that his administration was not intended for profiteers, the exact opposite is occurring at present.
But Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, retaliated by accusing Mr. Mahama of promoting corruption under his watch.
Chairman Wontumi stated, "After the corruption case involving Afriyie Ankrah, you brought him closer to you because corruption is a part of you."
He added that President Akufo-Addo has left behind a legacy that will be difficult for Ghanaians to forget.
"Before the introduction of free SHS, you, as president, said it would be possible in 20 years, but Akufo-Addo made it possible," he said.
