There was spontaneous commotion by girls of the Wa Senior High School Thursday following another fire outbreak in the school.
The inferno, which this time occured at the classroom given to them as a temporary dormitory after the two successive outbreak rendered them homeless, was also bizarely gutted by fire last night.
This triggered a spotaneous reaction by the girls who demanded to be allowed to go home by authorities of the school thereby storming the main gate of the school with the few belongings left with them.
With the security man at the gate being overwhelmed, the Police were called in by authorities to salvage the situation.
According to local media reports, some of the students passed under heavy inhalation of smoke from the fire outbreak and had to be rushed to the hospital for attention.
The Fire Service personnel were at the scene once more who did their best to douse the inferno albeit amid the absence of fire hydrants nearby and therefore needed to go for refilling in order to be able to complete the business.
When matters got to a head at the gate, the Police reportedly fired some shots to scare the girls back on campus who where still at the gate and bent on leaving the school for their safety whilst the Police also tried to prevent them from doing so.
It can be recalled that on Monday, January 23, 2023, this blog carried a report of fire outbreak at the girls' domitory of the school that occured on Sunday January 22, around 8pm.
Then the following day, on Monday, January 23, another fire outbreak was again recorded at the same domitory around the same time when the girls had gone for preps causing significant damage to their clothes, books, food and almost all their items on campus.
As a result, the about 200 stranded girls were allocated some classrooms as a temporal abode whilst authorities try to fix the situation.
The Upper West Regional Minister - Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih - together with authortiies from GES and the school managed to convince the students against demands for the closure of the school.
But even before the cause of these two fire are established by experts, a third one came striking prompting the girls to agitate saying they now feared for their lives.
Already, some sources at the school are suspecting arsonists in the fire incidents with fingers being pointed at some past disgruntled students who accused the school authorities for not allowing them cheat during their final exams.
They say they do not think that it is mere coincidence that all the three fire outbreaks should occur in the night around the same time when the girls have all gone to preps to study.
