Abora Tetsi enstools Oyerepa Tv' Journalist as Gyaasehen

The chiefs and people of Abora Tetsi in the AAK district in Central Region over the weekend made history as they revived their age long defunct Festival dubbed "Tetsi Mampong Okyir Afehye" and rounded off with installation of a brand new Gyaasehen for the town.




The new Chief bearing the Stool name as Nana Kobina Mankata1 is known privately as Mr Samuel Amoo, aka 'Wofa Sammy'. He was formerly Kumasi based businessman prior to his present position as the Central Regional Correspondent for the Oyerepa Tv Fame and also add as an Administrator of the Oyerepa/CR News Portal - a noble platform of resourceful personalities with varied backgrounds.

Speaking at the ceremony as the special guest, the AAK District Chief Executive Officer, DCE, Hon. Willyvans Obiri Awuah who deputized for the MP pledged the preparedness of his outfit to collaborate with the chiefs and people of the area in their efforts to construct the school block and called on the Nananom to endeavor to make land available for the project which he emphasized would require a vast portion of land for accomodations of all the ancillary components that enhance basic level education.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Nana Okogyeaman Oprepeh X, the Chief of Abora Tetsi extended a passionate appeal to the Assembly to consider putting up a structure there to relief the difficulty that school children go through in accessing primary education from the nearby communities These Young innocent children have to endure mercy of vagary wether to access education in the adjoining endowed towns including Abura Dunkwa and Kwadoegya amongst others, he bemoaned stating that his community was ever ready to provide land and the necessary communal support in terms of labour work and thus appeal to GES through the district Assembly to come to their aid as early as possible.

Nana Okogyeaman Oprepeh X recounted the significance of the occasion as a forum meant not only for socialization but also empowerment of Youth to uphold the essence of their culture thereby to rededicate themselves to the course of championing the development of their town.

For his part, Nana Anka, VIII, the Tufohen of Abora State who doubles as the Odzikro of Old Odonase, who represented the Omanhen, Emintsimin OTU XI however commended the chiefs and people of Abora Tetsi exhibiting a sense of unity of purpose culminating in wonderful togetherness resulting in the resuscitation of their defunct age-old festival which had been suspended for over a period of four decades due to lack of effective coordination and planning. He then charged the youth group to embrace their culture so as to benefit from the dictate of the norms and such societal values for their on good.


Later in an exclusive interview with Journalists, Nana Kobina Mankata1 thanked God, Almighty for bringing him that far and also expressed an endless ton of appreciation for the support of all and sundry particularly, his Media colleagues for their immense presence which had helped his elevation to become a grand success.

Touching on his vision for advancement of his community, Nana Kobina Mankata1 mentioned education as his priority and therefore, would do his best to promote the development of the town.

Finally, an individual, Ambassador/Bishop Samuel Owusu, a native of the town and wife who were the Special Guests of the occasion offered to assist in building the basic school unit facility for his community and donated a whopping sum of GHc10,000. as a seed capital and also pledged to give hundred bags cement towards the construction of the project.
