'He sent me money to buy my first car' - Kobby Kyei recounts Stonebwoy's support
Ghanaian content creator Kobby Kyei has revealed how he acquired his first car with the unexpected support of dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.
In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 2, 2026, Kyei recalled meeting Stonebwoy during the shoot of a music video.
He said after the shoot, the musician approached him, praised his social media content, and encouraged him to keep going.
“I met Stonebwoy during a shoot of a music video. I went to shoot a behind-the-scenes. So, after the shooting of the music video, we were all chatting, and he was even talking to those around him about how he loved my content. He said I would go far in what I was doing. We exchanged numbers, and when I got home, I texted him,” he said.

Explaining how the car purchase came about, Kobby Kyei said during a phone conversation, he shared his plans to support people in deprived communities and mentioned his need for a car to make the initiative possible.
According to him, during the conversation, Stonebwoy asked for his mobile money number and sent him money as his contribution towards the purchase of the car.
“When I was chatting with him, I told him my plan of going to the villages to help the deprived people, but I didn’t have a car. He called me on the phone, and that was the longest time I had spoken with him on the phone.
“During the conversation, he asked for my mobile money number. Before the call ended, he asked me to check my wallet; he had sent me money to buy my first car. He was like, that is a contribution. So, Stonebwoy contributed to buying my first car,” he added.
