From Ga Mantse to Accra Mayor: AMC finalists embark on Ghana tour
The finalists of the Africa Monologue Challenge (AMC) Season 3 have officially begun their activities in Ghana with a series of memorable engagements as part of their stay in the country.
The finalists, who are representing different African countries in the competition, were officially welcomed to Ghana during a press conference held at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
The event provided an opportunity for the finalists to interact with the media, introduce themselves, and share their expectations ahead of the next phase of the competition.
Beyond the press conference, the finalists embarked on a series of courtesy visits that offered them a taste of Ghanaian hospitality and the opportunity to engage with some notable personalities.
A royal welcome from Ga Mantse
Their next stop was the residence of the Ga Mantse, where the finalists were warmly received by the traditional ruler.
The Ga Mantse welcomed the young talents to Ghana and assured them that they would always have a home in the country.
He wished the finalists well in the competition and encouraged them to see Ghana as a place where they would always be welcomed.
The finalists were also asked to share their impressions of Ghana since arriving in the country.
In their responses, they spoke positively about their experiences, highlighting the warmth of the people, the atmosphere and the reception they had received so far.
The interaction with the Ga Mantse offered the finalists a deeper connection with Ghanaian culture and traditional leadership.
Special moment at the Senegal Embassy
The AMC team then moved to the Embassy of Senegal, where they met with the Senegalese Ambassador.
The meeting was particularly significant for the Senegalese finalist, who had the opportunity to engage in conversations with the Ambassador and take photographs with him.
The Ambassador congratulated the finalists on their participation in the Africa Monologue Challenge and wished them success in the competition.
He also expressed his willingness to support the initiative and encouraged the young talents to continue pursuing their creative ambitions.
The Senegalese finalist, visibly excited about the encounter, shared a special moment with the Ambassador before the delegation continued with its activities.
Birthday celebration with the Accra Mayor
The day took an even more exciting turn when the finalists visited the residence of the Accra Mayor, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey.
Coincidentally, the visit fell on the Mayor’s birthday, turning the courtesy call into an impromptu celebration.
The Mayor hosted the finalists with an assortment of refreshments, cocktails, meat and other meals as they relaxed and interacted in a friendly atmosphere.
What started as a courtesy visit quickly became a lively celebration, with the Mayor joining the finalists on the dance floor.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music and excitement as the finalists danced with the Mayor and enjoyed the hospitality extended to them.
The Mayor also wished the finalists well as they continue their journey in the Africa Monologue Challenge and encouraged them to make the most of their time in Ghana.
The series of engagements gave the AMC Season 3 finalists more than just official introductions. From the halls of the Ghana Tourism Authority to the residence of the Ga Mantse, the Senegal Embassy, and the birthday celebration with the Accra Mayor, the finalists experienced different aspects of Ghanaian culture, leadership, and hospitality.
For the finalists, the day served as a memorable introduction to Ghana, with each stop adding a new chapter to their AMC Season 3 journey.
