President John Dramani Mahama is set to make changes to the leadership of several state institutions as part of a broader reorganisation of his administration.
The planned reshuffle, which will affect Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of state institutions, is aimed at strengthening leadership, improving coordination and enhancing performance across government.
The move comes shortly after the President reshuffled his ministers and dissolved the boards of several state institutions, with the latest board dissolutions announced on September 2, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama, the Presidency said the changes were intended to ensure that government appointees remain aligned with the administration’s policies and priorities.
It said discipline, accountability and effective leadership remain key expectations for Ministers, Deputy Ministers, CEOs, board members and other political appointees.
The Presidency further urged all appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence and humility, while adhering to established administrative procedures and supporting the effective implementation of government policies.
It cautioned that conduct that undermines government cohesion, institutional authority or the implementation of government programmes would not be tolerated.
The statement also reminded appointees that public office is a privilege and carries a responsibility to serve the Ghanaian people.
The performance of government appointees across all sectors, it added, will continue to be assessed as the administration seeks to improve its effectiveness and responsiveness.
“The President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his Administration,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Presidency has urged all appointees to cooperate with the ongoing reorganisation and remain focused on delivering the government’s mandate.

The recent ministerial changes and the dissolution of selected boards, together with the impending reshuffle of Chief Executives, reflect the President’s determination to strengthen institutional leadership, enhance coordination and ensure that every appointee remains fully aligned with the Government’s policies and priorities.
The President expects all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chief Executives, Board members and other political appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence, humility and respect for established administrative procedures. Conduct that undermines governmental cohesion, institutional authority or the effective implementation of Government policy will not be tolerated.
All appointees are reminded that public office is a privilege and an opportunity to serve the Ghanaian people. Performance across all sectors will continue to be assessed, and the President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his Administration.
