'Death is so cruel’ - John Dumelo’s wife pays tribute to late former Minister Ibrahim Adam
Gifty Mawunya Dumelo, wife of actor-turned-politician John Dumelo, has paid an emotional tribute to the late former Minister for Agriculture, Alhaji Ibrahim Issaka Adam, ex-husband of veteran actress Selassie Ibrahim, following his passing.
In a Facebook post, Gifty Mawunya Dumelo said she would deeply miss the lengthy conversations and gossips she shared with the late former minister.
She recalled their conversations, particularly one about the remarkable coincidence that saw both Ibrahim Adam and her husband, John Dumelo, serve at the same ministry at different stages of their respective careers.
According to Gifty, she and the late former minister had discussed how fortunate her parents were to have had two MPs and ministers as in-laws, with the coincidence of both men being assigned to the Ministry of Agriculture being particularly intriguing.
Her tribute also praised the legacy of the late former minister, describing him as a legend who would forever be remembered and cherished by the family.
“Oh how I miss you already. Death is so cruel… I will miss our long conversations and gossips. I remember our conversation about how fortunate my parents are to have had two MPs and Ministers as in-laws.

You were a legend and we will forever hold you dearly in our hearts. Hon. Adam Ibrahim our Hero rest in power,” she wrote.
Ibrahim Adam reportedly passed away at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where he had been receiving medical treatment.
He was an animal scientist and veteran politician who served as Agriculture Secretary and later Minister for Food and Agriculture under the administration of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Ibrahim Adam also represented the Choggu/Tishigu Constituency in Parliament from 1997 to 2001.
Beyond his ministerial and parliamentary roles, he served as Board Chairman of the Agricultural Development Bank.
