'You called police to arrest me’ - Stonebwoy reveal details of ‘beef’ with Sarkodie
Stonebwoy has disclosed that rapper Sarkodie reported him to the police following a confrontation at the Independence Square during the rapper’s virtual Black Love Concert in August 2020.
The dancehall musician made the revelation during a TikTok Live session on September 8, 2026, while recounting the events surrounding the incident and explaining how the disagreement eventually led to police involvement.
According to Stonebwoy, he travelled from Togo to attend and support the concert despite being unwell. However, he claimed that upon arriving at the venue, he was subjected to what he described as “inhumane treatment” by Sarkodie and his team.
He said he was kept backstage for several hours and was eventually angered by developments at the event that differed from what he had initially been told.
“I came all the way, I landed, I came there, the backstage, and you guys gave me the inhumane treatment. I am not blaming you directly for it, but it’s your name only. Y’all gave me the inhumane treatment ever. You humiliated me, kept me behind the stage,” he said.

Stonebwoy explained that despite being sick, he remained backstage throughout the event and even slept there for several hours.
He said tensions escalated after he woke up and realised that things had changed from what he had been told earlier. According to him, he became furious and got into a confrontation with Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town.
Stonebwoy said that he was subsequently accused of having hit or slap the individual, but insisted that he never did such a thing.
“Then they told me, say I came to hit him, I came to slap him. All of those ones were on the side. That notwithstanding, if I had the intention to hit or slap or cause chaos, would I come there in the first place when I’m sick?” he asked.
He further explained that although he was told he would no longer perform, he remained at the venue and waited until the programme ended, attributing his conduct to the discipline instilled in him.
“I humbly stood there with the discipline and principle that I have in my heart as a boy grown well from home. Discipline, proper, proper. I stayed there at the backstage of the Independence Square the whole fucking night till you closed your show,” he stated.
According to Stonebwoy, he later approached Sarkodie to address the matter directly and also apologised after being told that his hand had made contact with Angel’s eye unknowingly during the confrontation.
“I decided to come and talk to you directly and say, yo, Killer, I no slap nobody. Boys dey hold boys, tempers flare. Boy said my hand entered ein eye. If my hand entered your eye, okay, cool. I’m here to apologise before I go. That’s what I did,” he recounted.
However, Stonebwoy said the matter did not end there. He claimed that Sarkodie and his associates subsequently reported the incident to the police to arrest him for injuring Angel Town.
Stonebwoy further claimed that he was told the police had received a statement alleging that he had been armed with a knife and guns during the incident.
“Somebody came to say I was holding a knife and I was holding guns in the statement. So the investigator asked him, say, are you sure? If we go investigate where this boy no hold anything you said, we will arrest you,” he recounted in pidgin.
He said he eventually chose to apologise publicly, a decision he now regrets because, according to him, his lawyer remains unhappy that he took responsibility publicly despite his version of events.
“Till today, my lawyer is angry at me for that move that I picked. Before they gonna realise, what did I do? I came online to come and apologise, rather as if I caused anything,” Stonebwoy added.
