Black Princesses roar back to beat South Korea
The Black Princesses of Ghana secured a convincing 3-1 victory over the Republic of Korea at the Arena Sosnowiec, bouncing back strongly after their opening-day defeat.
Ghana started brightly and looked to impose themselves early but suffered a setback in the 26th minute when Esther Asamoah was forced off with an injury. Latifa Abesik came on as her replacement.
The Black Princesses continued to push forward after the break and finally got their reward in the 52nd minute.
Sarah Nyarko produced a stunning long-range effort to beat the Korean goalkeeper and put Ghana 1-0 ahead.
Just three minutes later, Ivy Osei Owusu doubled Ghana’s advantage with a composed chip over the goalkeeper to give the Black Princesses a 2-0 lead.

Ghana continued to control the game and created more opportunities as they searched for a third goal.
That third goal eventually arrived in the 84th minute, when Ruth Amponsah found the back of the net to make it 3-0 and put Ghana firmly in command.
South Korea managed to pull one back deep into stoppage time, scoring in the fifth minute of added time.
However, it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as the Black Princesses held on for a 3-1 victory.
It was a strong response from Ghana, who left Arena Sosnowiec with all three points.
