'Position yourself well' – Aisha Bengai urges young entrepreneurs

Chief Executive Officer of BenGuy Imports, Aisha Bengai, has urged young entrepreneurs to focus on positioning their businesses effectively rather than being discouraged by competition in the market. Speaking at Konnected Minds LIVE 2026 at the KNUST Sarah Mensah Hall in Kumasi, she said entrepreneurs could succeed in competitive markets by identifying opportunities and differentiating their businesses. Bengai was speaking on the topic, “Building Wealth Through Importation & Entrepreneurship,” at the second edition of the event, which brought together entrepreneurs, founders and students. Addressing concerns that the importation business was too competitive for new entrants, she said the market was not necessarily saturated but required entrepreneurs to position themselves strategically. “There is no saturated business; just position yourself well,” she told the audience. She also encouraged entrepreneurs to pay greater attention to their relationships with customers, describing satisfied and loyal customers as an important source of referrals and repeat business.
