Watch resurfaced video of 17-year-old André Ayew travelling with Marseille squad
A teenage André Ayew was already getting a taste of Champions League football when he travelled with the Olympique de Marseille squad to Turkey for their meeting with Beşiktaş in November 2007.
Ayew, who was then just 17, was pictured alongside his Marseille teammates at the airport as the squad made the trip to Istanbul.
The players were dressed formally in suits, with the youngster travelling alongside established names including Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo and compatriot Wilson Oruma.
The trip came during Marseille’s 2007/08 UEFA Champions League campaign, with the French side preparing for a crucial Group A encounter at the İnönü Stadium.

Upon arrival in Turkey, the squad got down to business, holding their training session ahead of the match.
Ayew had already made his Champions League debut earlier that month against Porto and was beginning to establish himself around Marseille’s senior team.
He would eventually feature in the match against Beşiktaş, coming on in the 54th minute for Boudewijn Zenden. Taiwo also entered at half-time and later scored Marseille’s equaliser with a powerful long-range effort.
Marseille, however, suffered a late setback as Brazilian striker Bobo scored in the 88th minute to hand Beşiktaş a 2-1 victory.
