‘I was young and stupid’ - Tima Kumkum reflects on marrying to get back at her ex
Media Personality Tima Kumkum has expressed regret over a decision she once made to marry her first partner just to make her ex-boyfriend jealous.
In a video making waves on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 22, 2026, Tima said if she could go back in time, she would not repeat the same mistake, adding that she was young and stupid at the time.
“Look at my life. I have been in two failed marriages. People said I don’t have a good character. People have been mocking me, but I know the God I serve, and He has a purpose for me.
“I was young and stupid. I will never make that decision I made at that time again because I was young. I am saying this to encourage people not to enter into another bad relationship just to get back at their ex,” she said.

Tima Kumkum further advised young women not to rush into marriage after a failed relationship, adding that they should endeavor to heal first.
“I wanted to serve as a motivation to that young woman who wouldn’t be scared to leave her marriage without thinking it would end in failure. I waited for seven years before I got married again, but all that I have learnt is that it doesn’t matter the number of years you wait. You can even wait for 20 years; if it will end, it will, because maybe that is not the purpose of your life,” she stated.
She also expressed concern over the ridicule she has since faced on social media following her failed marriages.
“I was mocked on social media. They said whatever they wanted to say. I am the only one who knows what I have gone through. I was 20 years old when I met my first husband. My boyfriend at the time had cheated, and I decided to marry him as revenge against my ex-boyfriend,” she added.
