Musician AratheJay has revealed that the vision behind his Christo Disco EP is to present God in a way that reaches people beyond the walls of the church.
He established that the project is intended to “take God to the clubs.”
Speaking on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, AratheJay explained that the six-track EP is a personal reflection of his own journey of accepting Christ rather than an attempt to portray himself as someone with complete knowledge of God.
“One thing I want to say about the EP is that I wanted to present how I took Christ, how I accepted Him. So it’s not someone who knows all about God; it’s just the little I know, just how I met Him and the things I’ve been through with Him. That is what I used to orchestrate the project,” he said.

The singer also disclosed that fans should expect more music from the project, revealing that “very soon I will add six more to the previous six.”
When McBrown observed that almost every song on the EP references God and asked whether it was intentional, AratheJay responded in the affirmative, explaining the message he wants listeners to take away.
“Yes. You see we are pushing Christ into the disco. Basically, God on the streets and the clubs, so how I met Him and how I know Him, that is exactly how I portrayed Him,” he said.
McBrown suggested that the approach could help people who have drifted away from their faith reconnect with God even while in clubs, to which AratheJay agreed.
“Some of the songs talk about finding money and other things, but in the end their foundation stems from God. That is what I was talking about,” he said
Asked whether he was a church boy growing up, AratheJay revealed that his Christian upbringing continues to shape his life today.
“I am still a church boy. When I was young, I used to go for dawn broadcasting with my grandfather, and I used to carry his Bible. We would be singing, and someone would open their window and shout at us to go away, then we would take a few steps away from there and continue. I liked it because I knew that as I was helping them, I was also helping myself. As I was listening and obeying, it was all molding me into who I am today,” he recounted.
