Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Kumchacha, has urged parents to pay closer attention to their children and create an environment where they feel safe discussing their concerns.
According to him, some children are naturally talkative and may sometimes discuss issues adults consider insignificant, but parents must listen because their children may be trying to draw attention to serious problems.
Speaking during a discussion on UTV on September 21, 2026, Prophet Kumchacha cautioned parents against dismissing their children’s concerns, particularly when they report incidents of sexual harassment in school.
“There are some children who like to talk about everything. Because they like to talk, they might be talking about something really important, which the mother needs to pay attention to; she will just ignore it. Parents should have patience for the children and pay close attention to them,” he said.
He noted that some children may face sexual harassment from teachers but become unable to seek help when they return home because their parents are either too busy to listen or immediately shut them down.

“Some teachers tend to harass the children sexually in school. When they get home, instead of informing the parents so that they can take action in order to prevent that from happening again, the parents will just shut them up and claim they’re too busy to listen,” he stated.
Prophet Kumchacha further observed that some parents do not maintain close relationships with their children, making it difficult for them to open up about issues affecting them.
“Some parents don’t also bring the children close to them, so most often, they’re scared to communicate with their parents about issues troubling them,” he shared.
He therefore encouraged parents to show their children love, patience and genuine care so they can freely communicate with them when they encounter difficult or potentially harmful situations.
“It’s high time parents listen to their children and show them enough care. When they’re going through something, they will be able to talk to their parents freely,” he added.
