'John Dumelo was my everyday crush' – Nana Adjoa Lovia

Ghanaian actress and artiste manager Nana Adjoa Lovia has revealed that actor and politician John Dumelo was her childhood crush and the only actor she followed closely while growing up. Speaking in a recent interview on MX24 TV, Nana Adjoa Lovia disclosed that she developed an admiration for the actor during her school days and regularly posted about him on Facebook. “Growing up, the only actor that I was watching was John Dumelo. I really like him and now that he is a married man, I can’t say a lot,” she said. According to her, Dumelo was her “everyday crush” during her high school years, with her admiration becoming evident through her social media posts. “The funny part is he knows I like him. Even when I was in high school, I was always posting him on my Facebook and he was my everyday crush,” she revealed. Nana Adjoa Lovia recalled how friends and followers teased her after Dumelo got married, with some sending her videos from his wedding ceremony. “When John Dumelo got married, people were sending me his wedding videos and they were teasing me that my crush is married,” she recounted. According to her, she would only buy a movie if Dumelo featured in it. “At first, when they were selling DVDs, I only had free weekends to watch movies, so when I saw the ‘Aboki’ people who sell the CD passing, if John Dumelo is not on the CD, I won’t buy it,” she shared. The actress noted that Dumelo was not only someone she admired as an actor but also someone she looked up to because of his dedication to his craft. “He was someone I looked up to a lot. He put in all his effort in his work and you could see that the man is serious,” she stated. Nana Adjoa Lovia further disclosed that she eventually met Dumelo in person and became relatively close to him before his marriage. “I’ve met him in person before.
