Ghana Jollof Case: Court adjourns Salomey Baffoe's bail application
The High Court in Accra has adjourned the bail application of senior nursing officer Salomey Baffoe, who is accused of abetting the publication of false information by social media personality Ghana Jollof.
According to a report by citinewsroom.com, the case has been adjourned to September 24, 2026, after the prosecution requested more time to respond to the defence’s application for bail.
An Assistant State Attorney, Carl Afedzi Forson, told the court that he was not the substantive attorney handling the case.

He said he had been informed that the Attorney General’s Office was served with the bail application on Friday, but the application had not yet been assigned to a lawyer because Monday, September 21, 2026, was a public holiday.
The prosecution subsequently asked the court for a short adjournment to enable it to prepare its response.
Counsel for Baffoe, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, however, opposed the request, arguing that the matter involved the liberty of his client and should not be treated like a civil case where parties are required to have three clear days for service.
He said there was proof that the prosecution had been served and noted that the State had not claimed that it had been short-served.
Counsel further argued that applications involving the liberty of an accused person could be heard even over weekends and that the relevant period for such applications continued to run.
He also told the court that the State had had enough time to respond and cautioned that another delay could make the bail application practically moot.
According to him, Baffoe would have spent two weeks in custody by the time the prosecution filed and served its response.
In addressing the issue, the court acknowledged that Baffoe’s liberty was at stake and stressed that the State could not take the matter for granted.
The court subsequently adjourned the case to September 24, 2026, and directed the Republic to file any processes it intended to rely on and serve them by 9:00 am.
Baffoe is currently before the court in connection with allegations that she aided Ghana Jollof in the publication of false information.
The development comes amid heightened public attention surrounding the case and concerns over the continued detention of individuals linked to social media publications.
