Ghana FA asks CAF to secure more tickets for supporters in Bouake
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has asked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to intervene after about five hundred (500) Ghanaian supporters travelled to Bouake for Thursday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cote d’Ivoire without tickets.
The fans made the journey from Ghana to support the Black Stars but have been unable to gain access to Stade de la Paix. The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) has said tickets for the match are sold out.
GFA officials received Ghana’s official ticket allocation at Wednesday’s Match Coordination Meeting (MCM). However, the number provided is not enough to accommodate the large group of Ghanaian supporters currently in the Ivorian city.
In a letter to CAF, the GFA requested an additional block of about five hundred (500) tickets so the stranded fans can attend the Group C opener.
The association has also raised the issue with the Match Commissioner, who has assured the GFA of his assistance.
The GFA said it remains committed to ensuring the Ghanaian supporters who travelled to Bouake are given the opportunity to watch and support the Black Stars against Cote d’Ivoire.
