When Asante Akyem North MP OK Frimpong’s extradition hearing will take place
Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has disclosed when the extradition hearing involving the embattled Asante Akyem North Member of Parliament, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, popularly known as OK Frimpong, will take place.
According to the Majority Chief Whip of the 9th Parliament, the hearing is scheduled for November 18, 2026.
Speaking in an interview on Citi FM on September 23, 2026, Dafeamekpor disclosed that two applications for OK Frimpong’s bail had been refused.
The Member of Parliament for South Dayi also indicated that about five months after his arrest, OK Frimpong still remains in the “hands of the Dutch government in Amsterdam.”
“The extradition hearing will take place on the 18th of November 2026. He is still in custody. He’s still in the hands of the Dutch government in Amsterdam. We have done two applications, one substantive, one appeal for his bail, but they all got refused,” he said.
Dafeamekpor further noted that Parliament of Ghana was now preparing for the substantive hearing.

“So we are preparing to deal with the substantive hearing of the matter on the 18th of November,” he said.
He added that Parliament was also preparing a statement on the status of the MP.
OK Frimpong was arrested at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam on May 10, 2026, after travelling from Ghana.
Parliament subsequently confirmed his detention and said it was engaging Ghana’s diplomatic mission in The Hague for further information.
The Asante Akyem North MP was arrested after arriving in Amsterdam from Ghana over allegations linked to romance scams and money laundering.
