‘I have paid you a lot’ - Kweku Smoke fumes over alleged police extortion
Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke has expressed his displeasure over what he described as extortion by the Ghana Police Service.
In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on October 14, 2026, Kweku Smoke was seen complaining that some police officers were constantly demanding money from him.
According to him, after paying the said officers stationed at a particular barrier, they pass by him on the same road, set up another barrier ahead, and still demand more money.

“I have been repeatedly paying money to these police officers on this road. Right after paying at the barrier, you will see the same officers passing behind to set up another barrier ahead to demand the same money from me. Why are you behaving like this?” he said.
Kweku Smoke, while expressing his frustration, noted that he might as well consider adding VAT to his bookings due to the similar incidents he encounters whenever he travels by road or air.
“If I fly, problem; if I drive, problem. Afor start dey add VAT to ma bookings,” he added.
