Drama in TV studio as woman faces divorce after ‘farting’ while Muslim husband was praying

A Muslim cleric, Zakariah Abdul Rahaman, is embroiled in a marital dispute with his wife, Amina Abdella, following a series of disagreements that have pushed their marriage to the brink of divorce. Zakariah, who appeared on Lawson Afisem, a programme aired on Lawson TV that seeks to resolve domestic disputes, on October 13, 2026, revealed that his marriage is facing serious challenges, including legal battles involving his wife. Narrating his ordeal, Zakariah explained that the ongoing marital dispute has affected their three children, whose custody has become a major point of contention between the couple. According to him, his wife has taken custody of their children and has refused to allow him to take care of them despite his repeated requests. He further alleged that Amina had reported him to the police for failing to fulfil his responsibilities as a father, an accusation he disputed. Zakariah maintained that he was willing to take responsibility for the children but claimed his wife had denied him the opportunity to do so. However, Amina, who was contacted during the programme to share her side of the story, accused her husband of neglecting his responsibilities as a husband and father. Recounting the circumstances that contributed to the breakdown of their marriage, Amina disclosed that one of their disagreements began after she accidentally farted in a room while her husband was performing his Islamic prayers. He later went around telling everybody in the neighbourhood what I had done," she recounted. Amina maintained that the incident, coupled with other unresolved marital disagreements, had strained their relationship and contributed to the ongoing divorce dispute.
