‘Let the court decide who is right and who is at fault’ – Nana Akua Addo on abuse case
Actress and fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has urged the public to respect her children’s privacy as she leaves the domestic abuse case involving her husband, Harold Norman, for the court to handle.
She said she has no intention of discussing the case publicly or engaging in arguments with her husband through the media, adding that the matter should be settled through the legal system.
“Anytime an issue comes up, everyone wants to know who is right and who is at fault. I don’t want to go down that path, so I will leave everything to the court, please.
“I believe the appropriate place for this matter to be addressed is before the court. Social media is not a place to handle this issue, especially when children are involved,” she told Graphic Showbiz.
Nana Akua also rejected claims that she had been abusive, stating that the court should determine the facts of the case.
She further appealed to social media users to delete videos of her children that have been shared online since the dispute became public.
“Since last week, I have been pleading with the public to take down sensitive videos of my children and I want to make that appeal again. Please take them down for my daughters’ sake,” she said.

According to her, protecting her daughters from unwanted public attention remains her priority, and she wants them kept away from the ongoing legal dispute.
The case has been under investigation for several months, according to a police report.
It attracted fresh public attention in August 2026 after Nana Akua petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, accusing her husband of physical, emotional and economic abuse.
The police announced on October 7, 2026, that Norman had been arrested to assist with investigations. He was later granted police enquiry bail with two sureties.
However, Norman’s legal team has challenged some of the claims circulating publicly and made counter-allegations relating to an incident in 2021.
Norman was expected to appear in court on October 7, 2026, but the police explained that he could not attend because he was receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
They said he would be brought before the court after being discharged.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has met both Nana Akua and Norman separately over the matter.
Despite the public attention surrounding the case, Nana Akua maintained that her children’s welfare and privacy were her main concerns.
“What matters to me now is the privacy of my children, as the minister requested. That is what I will comment on. Everything else is with the court,” she said.
