Most of the coaches are looking for jobs, and most of them respect Ghana due to how we play. I can confirm that over 400 coaches have applied for the job,” he said in an interview with Asempa FM. The committee responsible for recommending the most suitable candidate for the coaching role was established following a meeting between the GFA leadership and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in Accra on Friday, October 2, 2026. Former GFA Vice-President Fred Pappoe will chair the panel, bringing extensive experience in football administration and governance to the recruitment process. Pappoe will work alongside four other members: Anthony Baffoe, General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and a former Ghana international; Agbesi Dzakpasu (Esq.), a legal practitioner and football administrator; Stephen Appiah, a former Black Stars captain; and Faisal Chibsah, a high-performance specialist.
