Watch as NPP’s Jennifer Queen clashes with NDC’s Gifty Enam Gbedevi on live TV

A former Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Queen, clashed with the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s Gifty Enam Gbedevi during the October 15, 2026, edition of UTV’s Adekye Nsroma show. The two engaged in a heated exchange over President John Dramani Mahama’s appointment of Emelia Afi Agbenyo as Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission. During the discussion, Gifty argued that Emelia was competent of performing her duties effectively. She further stated that she had learned of the Minority’s opposition to the appointment, a development she found unnecessary given Emelia’s competence. According to Gifty, the Minority, which currently has 88 seats in Parliament, lacks the numbers to hold the government accountable effectively. She therefore suggested that Minority MPs should be provided with laptops to work from home instead of opposing the appointment. What Atta Mills told me before his death - Ps Abdulah shares untold stories about Mills “The Minority should be given laptops to work from home because their 88 seats are not enough to put the government on its toes. Why would they oppose the appointment of Emelia, who is competent? They need to sit at home and work from there,” she said. Jennifer, who was displeased with the remarks, interrupted Gifty and described her comments as disrespectful to Ghanaians and the Minority in Parliament. She questioned why Gifty would suggest on national television that Minority MPs should be given laptops to work from home simply because of their numbers in Parliament. Jennifer further argued that the ruling government had previously lost elections, stressing that such remarks were inappropriate for a national television discussion. “You want to buy laptops for the Minority to work from home? The kind of conversations that should be held outside and in our homes, you are bringing them to national television,” she said. The disagreement subsequently escalated into a heated exchange as the two traded words during the live television discussion. Watch the interview below:
