Ghanaian rapper Medikal has taken a swipe at his fellow rapper Teephlow after the latter allegedly tagged him with fraud.
He has cautioned Teephlow against being pressured abroad to “look after someone’s dog” in search of money.
In a snippet from a TikTok Live circulating on social media, Medikal said he still sees Teephlow as a senior in the music industry despite their differences, but urged him to put pride aside and reach out for a collaboration instead of harbouring resentment.
“Call me, ‘Medikal, what’s up, let’s meet and do a song,’ so you can get some streams, perform it at shows and make some money, buy a car, build a house and be comfortable.

“Don’t let pressure push you abroad to look after someone’s dog before you’re given some money,” he said.
Medikal accused Teephlow of becoming resentful after his rise to fame, claiming that the rapper refused to feature on his songs when he was an up-and-coming artiste but later criticised his music after he became successful.
According to Medikal, he first met Teephlow over a decade ago at KNUST after one of the rapper’s performances.
He said he approached Teephlow for help because he believed in his talent but needed someone established to give him a push.
“I told him, ‘Bro, I beg you, help me. Me too I dey rap… I know say I dey try.’ He gave me his number, but when I kept calling, he later told me he couldn’t work on my song because he was focused on his own project,” Medikal recounted.
Medikal said he understood Teephlow’s position at the time because he now experiences similar situations where upcoming artistes seek his help while he is busy with his own projects.
However, Medikal said he was disappointed when Teephlow later criticised his hit song La Hustle, recalling that Teephlow mocked one of his lyrics and questioned his style of rap.
“He tweeted, ‘Mea me dokono mea mɛ hono,’ asking what kind of rap that was and saying people shouldn’t be misled. But if Rick Ross raps about KFC or something, people call it hard. Because I rap about our culture, they ask what kind of rap I do,” he said.
Medikal maintained that his music reflects his real life and work ethic, insisting his success is the result of relentless hard work rather than pretending to live a fake lifestyle.
“If somebody like you, Teephlow, you slack and today I blow, then I do a verse for you even when you didn’t do for me, and you start hating because you think it should have been you, don’t do that. God won’t even bless you when you do that,” he added.
