A masterpiece of sculptural work executed by Mrs. Gladys Adinyira Wuaku, depicting a wounded person carrying a more wounded person was unveiled by Jake Obetsebi-Lamtey, Minister of Tourism to mark the second anniversary of the May 9 Stadium disaster.
The work in cement dressed in golden material is titled “Gbomo Nyemi Ji Gbomo” Ga meaning, be your brother’s keeper and costs over 100 million cedis.
Trees were planted in memory of the 127 perished souls in that football match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak which the latter won 2-1. One would not fail to notice the shrill voice of a loved one who sobbed uncontrollably outside the horrendous tragedy that befell the nation two years ago.
