Former national star Ben Adasi Fofie heaved a big sigh of relief when the minister of Education Youth and Sports (MYES) presented a brand new wheel chair and a cash of two million to him at a short ceremony in Sunyani on friday.

Making the presentation on behalf of the minister, Dr. Owusu Ansah, acting CEO of National Sports Council said the ministry of YES has put in place a committee to identify former international stars and reward them. This according to the NSC boss is the only way to encourage the youth to be committed to the national cause.

Expressing his appreciation, Adasi Fofie said Hon. Kwadwo Baah~Wiredu has demonstrated that Ghana is a country worth dying for. He called on the government to extend the kind gesture to many more people who sacrificed to put the name of Ghana on the global football map.

Other dignitaries present at the ceremony were the special assistant to the minister of YES, Hon. David Asare, Brong Ahafo Regional Sports Development Officer, P.K. Gyempeh, Joe Appiah, Kwabena Munufie all of NSC, Sunyani.
