'Dr Ayew Afriye's support was the magic wand' - Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser

The newly elected Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser of the NPP, Beatrice Owusu, popularly known as Auntie B, has credited the Member of Parliament for Effiduase-Asokore, Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, with playing a decisive role in her victory during last Saturday's election. Auntie B emerged victorious in the crucial elections held last Saturday, amidst opposition from the former second regional vice chairperson. Speaking in an interview on Hello FM, Auntie B revealed that she almost did not contest for the position at all, adding that the timely and immense support she received from the MP ultimately convinced her to go for it. "I almost did not file to even contest…but for the timely and immense support I got from the MP," she said. She revealed that in previous attempts at regional office, she had always gone it alone but never won. This time, she said, was different. "In all previous contests, I went solo and never won. This time, the support from Ayew Afriyie was the magic wand that saved the day for me," she said. She also spoke about her win on Hello FM in Kumasi, where she touched on similar themes regarding the support that carried her campaign.
