Alordia announces withdrawal from event promotion after ShattaFest UK saga

Ghanaian‑UK event promoter Alordia has addressed criticism following the cancellation of ShattaFest, which was halted due to overcrowding and accidents beyond his control.

Speaking on Hitz FM in a discussion shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on August 25, 2026, Alordia revealed that he is stepping back from organising events.

According to him, this decision is not solely tied to the ShattaFest incident but part of a broader plan to transition away from event promotion.

“I am backing out, and I am doing this not because of what happened. This is not a joke. This is a planned thing, and I am stepping into something else. I was a DJ, and I started doing event promotion. Now I have pulled back from DJing, and it’s the same thing I am doing,” he said.

Alordia clarified that while he is withdrawing, his brand will remain active, adding that he would still support artistes if approached.

“If someone is doing an event and I need to push the person, I will do it. I have no less than a year to back out of this industry. I need to think about myself as well.”

Responding to criticism from Ghana, Alordia stressed that his focus remains on his UK audience.

“The feedback that goes on in Ghana doesn’t bother us because we don’t have our fans here. The people who come to pay and watch our events are not here. They are in London and are happy with us,” he added.
