KSM breaks silence on being on payroll of Mahama's government

Ghanaian satirist and talk show host Kwaku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, has rejected claims that his advocacy for nation building is driven by financial benefits from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. Speaking on the KSM Show, the veteran broadcaster and satirist said his efforts to promote nation building are based on his personal commitment to the development of Ghana and not because he has been paid by the government. KSM said he was surprised that some of his colleagues, whom he considered intelligent and well educated, could attribute his advocacy to financial inducements. “Sometimes people don’t understand those of us who are looking for nation building. People think it’s a money issue. Let me take advantage and clear this now. There are people that I thought were even more intelligent than me, people who are like my colleagues, if they are watching, I told them I would say this anyway, who would say, ‘KSM NDC has given you block.’ We don’t need prayers, we need common sense - KSM blasts Aglow International “Because I would have thought your education and your level of intelligence will let you know that there are people who understand the sacrifice that they should make for this nation,” he said. According to KSM, nation building requires sacrifice, and he does not believe that people who genuinely want to contribute to Ghana’s development should always be assumed to be acting for financial gain. He further dismissed suggestions that he and others who advocate for nation building are on the government’s payroll, questioning who would be paying them for their efforts. “I’m glad I have the opportunity to throw this out there. Please, and I’m sure many of you know this, that we are not here every day to suffer and talk about building Ghana because we are on payroll. God forbid! That we are on the payroll. Who’s payroll?
