Emergency Recall of Parliament: 'Just a waste of our time' - Kabiru

Member of Parliament for Walewale, Mahama Tia Kabiru, has expressed disappointment in the government’s decision to call back Members of Parliament from recess only for them to sit idle.
He says two of the five days have elapsed with nothing to show for the emergency recall by the government.
In a social media post, he indicated that clearly, there was nothing of urgency worth the recall by the government through the Speaker of Parliament.
His position shared via social media read, “The government “rudely” cut short the recess of members of parliament for an emergency meeting. For the five (5) days sitting, we have wasted two (2) so far without any serious business presented, and members are still idle.
It’s so far disappointing. A government requesting for abridgment of time to deal with certain urgent matters to have failed to present its business is telling. The funny thing is that the government will present a matter later and want it approved within 24 hours, when a lot of days have been wasted. The government should get serious.
Parliament was recalled by the government through the Speaker of Parliament to attend to urgent government business after going on recess in July.
