'Pep made it tough for me’ – Antoine Semenyo opens up on Man City move

Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has admitted his transition from Bournemouth to Manchester City hasn't been easy, stating that his manager Pep Guardiola has made life “tough” as he continues to adapt and improve.

Semenyo made the remarks after being named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season, reflecting on his remarkable journey through English football.

The Ghanaian international, who has played across all four divisions in England, described it as an honour to now be recognised alongside some of the Premier League’s best players.

“It’s an honour to be standing next to these players. It’s amazing and, yeah, it’s been a long journey,” Semenyo said.

Asked whether his move from Bournemouth to Manchester City had been a smooth one, the forward admitted that adapting to life under Guardiola had been challenging.

“No, it was tough. Pep made it tough for me coming in, but I’ve enjoyed every minute, and I’m improving every day,” he said.

Semenyo’s recognition in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season marks another major milestone in his impressive rise through English football.
