2028 Elections: ‘I will spit pure fire against NDC’ - Mustapha Abdul-Hamid

Aspiring First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has declared that he is ready to be placed on the front lines of the party’s campaign ahead of the 2028 general election. Speaking while filing his nomination on August 26, 2026, to contest the position ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections, Abdul-Hamid said he was prepared to take on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the party seeks to return to power. Mustapha Hamid sets record straight on Bawumia ‘Islamization’ allegations “I want this party to put me on the front lines in 2028, and I shall spit pure fire at the NDC. That's what I represent, Mr Chairman, that is what I represent,” he said. Abdul-Hamid said he believes he represents different groups that the NPP would need to reach ahead of the 2028 elections, including Zongo communities, the media, intellectuals and the youth. “I carry everything that this party wants for 2028. I carry settler communities, I carry Zongo communities, I carry media people, I carry the intellectual class, I carry the youth of this country,” he stated. He also promised to serve in any role assigned to him if elected First Vice Chairman, describing himself as a versatile party member. “I am going to be your universal First Vice Chairman. Mr Chairman, if I were a footballer, I would be called a utility player. Wherever you put me, I am going to play,” he added. The NPP opened the filing of completed nomination forms for its national executive elections on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and will close on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
