40-year-old teacher dies in suspected suicide

A 40-year-old teacher identified as Kwame Oduro has died in a suspected suicide, according to a report by Tamale News Agency.
An X post sighted by GhanaWeb on Friday, September 11, 2026, explained that Oduro, who taught at the community’s primary school, reportedly left his home at dawn while in the company of his wife and did not return.

His wife later searched for him and discovered him deceased.
His body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
"A 40-year-old teacher, identified as Mr Kwame Oduro, has died in a suspected suicide at Ampabame No. 1 in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region, where he taught at the community’s primary school.

He reportedly stepped out of his home at dawn while with his wife and failed to return, prompting her to go in search of him, where she found him in a tragic condition," the post stated.
"...His body has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy as police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death," it added.
