Media personality Abena Moet has accused dancehall musician Shatta Wale of using controversies involving other artistes to remain relevant in the music industry.
According to Abena Moet, Shatta Wale has built a reputation for being confrontational, but some artistes continue to engage with him because their public banter often generates attention for all parties involved.
Speaking during a discussion on UTV’s United Showbiz on September 13, 2026, Abena Moet said Shatta Wale has repeatedly inserted himself into controversies that do not directly concern him.
“We all know that Shatta Wale has been a bully and will always be that bully. But some people don’t mind working with that bully once in a while. Whether you like it or not, their banter has created relevance for them for years,” she said.
Abena Moet questioned Shatta Wale’s recent musical success, stating that controversies have often kept his name at the center of public discussion.
“If we should say the truth, apart from ‘Street Crown’, when was the last time Shatta Wale had a hit song? Because whenever he wants the attention, we give it to him; he’s always at the top,” she stated.
She made the comments in the context of the ongoing controversy surrounding Stonebwoy and Sarkodie, noting that Shatta Wale had also inserted himself into the matter.

“Now we’re talking about the jollof Stonebwoy gave Sarkodie, but Shatta Wale has also involved himself. He will always get involved in fights like this. Sometimes, he should just ignore it like Sarkodie did, which doesn’t make him a good person,” Abena Moet shared.
She further advised Stonebwoy not to allow emotions to influence how he responds to controversies involving Shatta Wale, insisting that the entertainment industry is largely driven by business and publicity.
“Most artistes have been complaining about Sarkodie that he’s a user, but it’s work. I think Stonebwoy should understand that this is a game and it’s business. That’s how it will forever be,” she said.
Abena Moet alleged that Shatta Wale uses public controversies to generate content and maintain his relevance, particularly when he does not have a major hit song dominating the music scene.
“As Shatta Wale doesn’t have a hit song today, he will use you on his live for two weeks. At first, he releases about 100 songs in a year, but when was the last time he released a hit song? Either way, this is business for him, and what matters is that his name is in the industry,” she noted.
She further accused Shatta Wale of deliberately capitalising on the Stonebwoy and Sarkodie controversy, despite his name allegedly being mentioned only once.
“If you’re going to act emotional all the time for him to use you, it’s up to you. As the issue was ongoing with Sarkodie, Shatta’s name was mentioned just once, but see what he is doing. He wants something to stand on and use you to chase clout,” she added.
