Zonda Tec assembly plant to produce 12,000 vehicles annually, create 800 jobs - CEO

Zonda Tec Ghana Limited’s newly commissioned vehicle assembly plant is set to produce at least 12,000 vehicles annually as the company steps up its investment in Ghana’s automotive manufacturing industry. The ultra-modern facility, which assembles SUVs, pickup trucks and electric vehicles, has already created more than 800 direct skilled jobs for Ghanaians, according to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Yang Yang. Speaking at the commissioning of the plant on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, she said the company’s investment was not only about assembling vehicles but also about creating sustainable jobs and developing the skills needed to grow Ghana’s automotive industry. “The plant’s minimum annual capacity is 12,000 units,” she said. Yang Yang said the real impact of the investment should be measured by the number of families and businesses that benefit from the jobs and opportunities created. She added that Zonda Tec plans to deepen its investment in Ghana as the company expands, with a particular focus on developing local expertise and increasing the participation of Ghanaian businesses in its supply chain. “What really matters is how many good jobs we create, how many Ghanaian engineers and technicians we train, how many local businesses can become part of our supply chain and how much knowledge and technology can take root here in Ghana,” she said.
