French superstar Kylian Mbappé has rejected criticism suggesting he is the reason Real Madrid have struggled to win trophies due to his perceived inefficiency off the ball.
The forward has faced backlash for his lack of defensive contributions, which many believe has cost the club in crucial matches.
Responding to the claims, Mbappé argued that the criticisms are unfair, insisting he always gives his best in every game.

He emphasized that his prolific goalscoring record should be the primary measure of his performance, rather than focusing solely on one aspect of his play.
Speaking in an interview with Ballon d’Or Media, Mbappé insisted he remains committed to the club and will not be distracted by criticism, acknowledging that it is part of the game.
“People saying that my goals hurt the team as a collective? It makes no sense. Because if I don’t score, people will tell me, ‘Why didn’t you score?’ I’ve learned that when you’re a footballer, in every match you play, there are millions of coaches. And not all coaches are happy at home.
"Everyone has their own opinion, but I think the goal of football is to score goals, one more than the opponent. A player who scores goals will never be a problem, because I’ve never seen a team win a trophy without scoring any goals,” he said.
The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star is in contention for the 2026 Ballon d’Or despite enduring a trophyless season, having nevertheless won top scorer awards in major competitions.
