Renowned Ghanaian actress and filmmaker, Ama K Abebrese, has reacted to news that Hollywood actor Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika, has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on September 16, 2026, Ama K Abebrese, who had earlier promised to support Strika before his imprisonment, noted that she is still open to assisting him.
According to the filmmaker, she tried to get in touch with Strika when news of his stealing controversy surfaced on social media, but all efforts proved futile until she heard about his seven-year prison sentence.

"I'm sure by now you've heard the news about Emmanuel Quaye, who plays Strika in Beast of No Nation, and his prison sentence. Last week, I did a video, you know, hoping to reach out to him to see how best I can support him. That offer still stands, and hopefully, after the time that he spends in prison, we'll see how best we can support him," she said.
Ama K Abebrese further expressed hope that the actor comes out safe and sound, adding that she hopes the jail term will not be the end of his life.
"I'm just hoping that he comes out of this. I'm hoping this is not the end of his story, and he's gonna go on to greener pastures," she added.
