Church of Pentecost youth donate to orphanage to climax National Youth Week

The atmosphere at the Nzema Manle Child and Vulnerable Care Centre at Awiebo in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region was filled with joy and excitement when the Youth Ministry of the Nyamenle Kwagyina District of The Church of Pentecost in the Axim Area visited the orphanage to climax this year’s National Youth Week celebration.
The week-long celebration, which began on Monday, September 21, and ended on Sunday, September 27, 2026, was held across the country under the theme: “Making Jesus Famous Everywhere.”
As part of activities to climax the celebration in the district, the youth presented assorted items, including bags of rice, soft drinks, tissues, used clothes and other essential items to support the upkeep of the children at the home.
Presenting the items, the Assistant District Youth Leader, Deacon Clement Awini, said the gesture formed part of the church’s social responsibility and was a practical demonstration of the love of Christ to society.
He said the National Youth Week was not only about spiritual empowerment and revival but also about showing kindness and impacting lives in the community.
Deacon Awini expressed profound gratitude to the District Minister, Pastor Frank Antwi Boasiako, for his visionary leadership and continuous support. He also thanked all church members whose generous contributions made the donation possible.
He commended the owner of the Nzema Manle Child and Vulnerable Care, Pastor Peter Mukey, for his selfless dedication, noting that for more than three decades, he had devoted his time, energy and resources to caring for vulnerable children in Ellembelle and beyond.
Deacon Awini encouraged Pastor Mukey to remain steadfast in his noble calling despite the challenges and assured him that the Nyamenle Kwagyina District Youth Ministry would continue to support the home.
He also appealed to other benevolent individuals, corporate bodies, churches, NGOs and philanthropists to support the orphanage.
In an interview with Daniel Kaku, Pastor Peter Mukey, owner of the Nzema Manle Child and Vulnerable Care, disclosed that the home had been in existence for more than 30 years.
According to him, the home had given many orphans hope for the future, with several of them travelling abroad, completing their university education, getting married and now living as responsible adults contributing to national development.
He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Youth Ministry for the kind gesture and for remembering the children.
As part of the visit, the District Youth Secretary, Elder Collins Fameye, who led the delegation, offered special prayers for the children, committing their future, education and health into the hands of God.
He also prayed for the caretakers and management of the home for strength, wisdom and provision to continue their work.
