'Even GH¢27,000 I didn’t touch; how much more GH¢2,000?' – Mr Beautiful rejects Adjoa Pee's claim

Ghanaian actor Mr Beautiful has rejected claims by veteran actress Helena Maame Adwoa Petreba Pieterson, popularly known as Adjoa Pee, that he ‘pocketed’ part of the money meant to support her medical bills.
Speaking to Bra Emma Studios, Mr Beautiful explained that Adjoa Pee contacted him and told him about her medical condition.
According to him, he asked her how much she needed to settle her medical bills, and she indicated that the amount was GH¢2,000.
He said he subsequently approached the authorities about the veteran actress’ situation, after which he was given GH¢2,000 to support her medical bills.
Mr Beautiful explained that he drove from Accra to the hospital around Prampram, where Adjoa Pee had been admitted, and personally handed the actress the full GH¢2,000.
He therefore dismissed Adjoa Pee’s claim that he took part of the money to cover his transportation expenses, insisting that he had already been provided with money for transport or fuel for the journey.
He said Adjoa Pee had been making the allegations against him for a long time, but he initially decided not to respond.
However, he explained that her continued discussion of the matter publicly had made it necessary for him to set the record straight and reject what he described as allegations against his name.
Mr Beautiful further pointed to Adjoa Pee’s own account of the incident, arguing that she had confirmed that the amount he brought to her was GH¢2,000.
He questioned at what point he could have taken part of the money, given that the full GH¢2,000 was allegedly handed over to her and the transaction was captured on video.
Adjoa Pee alleges Mr Beautiful ‘pocketed’ part of Mahama’s money for her medical bills
“When you spoke to her, she confirmed that the amount I brought was GH¢2,000. At what point did I take any money from it? Did I take part of the money after handing it over to her, or did I take it before giving it to her? If part of the money had already been taken, would it still have been GH¢2,000? Yet she confirmed that the amount I gave her was GH¢2,000. So, does it mean that after I had given the money to her, I then took my share from it? Practically and logically, does that make sense? Listen to it carefully,” he said.
Mr Beautiful also cited another instance in which he said he was entrusted with a much larger amount of money to settle the medical bills of veteran musician Naa Amanua at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
According to him, authorities gave him as much as GH¢27,000 for Naa Amanua’s medical bills, yet he did not take a penny from the amount.
He therefore questioned why he would take part of just GH¢2,000 given to support Adjoa Pee.
On Adjoa Pee’s claim that he had refused to answer her calls, Mr Beautiful admitted that he had deliberately stopped responding to her calls.
He explained that his decision was because of requests she made after he had helped settle her medical bills, which he said were beyond what he could provide through the person who had offered the assistance.
According to him, Adjoa Pee requested a house because she was a veteran, a car and a scholarship for her son to study abroad.
“Yes, it is true I don’t answer Adjoa Pee’s calls. She said most veterans were given a house, so she also wants a house, a car, and her son should be given a scholarship to study abroad. The person who offers the help through me is not a real estate developer, the person is not a car dealer, and the person doesn’t work at the Scholarship Secretariat. So where was I going to get that help for her? That is the reason why I don’t answer Adjoa Pee’s calls,” he explained.
Background
Veteran Ghanaian actress Adjoa Pee previously accused Kumawood actor Mr Beautiful of taking part of the money she claims President John Dramani Mahama sent through him to support her medical bills.
She claimed that President Mahama had informed veteran creatives that if they needed assistance, they should contact Mr Beautiful, who would bring their concerns to his attention.
According to Adjoa Pee, the incident occurred about four years ago when she was hospitalised.
She claimed that in 2022, President Mahama gave Mr Beautiful GH¢2,000 to support her hospital bills, but the actor allegedly took part of the money to cover his transportation expenses, leaving her with an amount that was insufficient to settle her medical bill.
