John Boadu wins NPP national chairman election

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has been elected National Chairman of the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to the Electoral Commission (EC), John Boadu polled 2,888, defeating his closest contender, Boakye Agyarko, who polled 2,408.
The election forms part of the NPP’s efforts to elect a new set of national executives to lead the party as it reorganises ahead of the 2028 general elections.
More than 7,000 delegates from across the country participated in the election as the party seeks to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The election was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Delivering a speech on behalf of all the elected executives, the newly elected National Chairman, John Boadu, called on members of the party to unite and work together to recapture political power in the upcoming elections.
