Al Shabab grant Thomas Partey leave to attend father's funeral

Al Shabab have granted Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey special leave to travel home following the death of his father.
Partey's father, Jacob Partey, died last week after a short illness.
The Saudi Pro League club expressed its condolences to Partey and his family, wishing them strength and patience during their period of bereavement.
Partey joined Al Shabab on 12 August as the Riyadh-based club sought to strengthen its midfield options.
The Ghana international brought considerable experience to the squad, having played at the highest level in European football during spells with Atlético Madrid and Arsenal.
The 33-year-old began his senior career in Spain and also played for Villarreal before establishing himself at Atlético Madrid.
He spent last season with Villarreal, making 32 appearances in all competitions without scoring or providing an assist.
Partey subsequently moved to Saudi Arabia to begin a new chapter of his career with Al Shabab.
The club will hope to benefit from his technical ability, physical strength, and experience as they compete in the new Saudi Pro League season.
Partey is expected to return to the club after attending to family matters in Ghana.
