Masawudu questions Nana B’s move from NPP organiser role to vice chairman

Immediate past 3rd Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Masawudu Osman, has questioned why Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, left the position of National Organiser to contest for Vice Chairman.

Nana B, who served as the party’s National Organiser from 2022 to 2026, was elected Second Vice Chairman at the NPP’s latest national delegates conference.

Speaking in an interview on Neat FM, and sighted by GhanaWeb on October 6, 2026, Alhaji Masawudu said the National Organiser has more direct responsibility for areas such as logistics, security and mobilisation.

He explained that the position also comes with a budget for organising party activities across the country.

“For instance, if today John Boadu calls Nana Kumi or Nana B or Kojo Bamba and tells Kojo Bamba to go to Bolgatanga and go and do some work there, do you think he will tell Kojo Bamba to bring his budget?” he said.

According to him, the official responsible for the assignment can determine the amount needed for transport and other expenses.

“He can tell him to take money for flight and use a car from Sunyani or use your car and use the 30,000 or 20,000 for the journey,” he explained.

Alhaji Masawudu said the National Organiser controls a significant budget for such activities and has a role that allows him to determine what is needed.

"If there is someone who has a huge budget and you can't question; that is the national organiser,” he said.

He therefore said he was surprised that Nana B chose to leave the position and contest for Vice Chairman.

“...So, I am wondering why Nana B left national organiser to contest for vice chairman,” he said.

Alhaji Masawudu also argued that the First Vice Chairman does not have the same influence as the National Organiser.

“But the first vice chairman doesn't have that influence,” he said.

Alhaji Masawudu served as the NPP’s 3rd Vice Chairman after the party’s 2022 national executive elections.

He was among the candidates who contested for a vice chairman position in the 2026 elections but was not elected.
