Ibrahim Mahama credits Akufo-Addo government, Alan Kyerematen for supporting Dzata Cement

Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has expressed appreciation for the support Dzata Cement received during the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, particularly from then Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen. Speaking at the fifth anniversary of the indigenous cement manufacturing company on October 6, 2026, Ibrahim Mahama acknowledged individuals and institutions that contributed to the establishment and growth of the company. He singled out Alan Kyerematen for his role in supporting the project during his tenure as Minister for Trade and Industry under the Akufo-Addo administration. “One key person I need to also thank is in Nana Addo government, who really stood behind us. The Minister of Trade, Alan Kyerematen. So Alan, wherever you are, I give you a thumbs up. Thank you very much for standing behind us,” he said. He said the support received from various stakeholders was critical to transforming the Dzata Cement project from an idea into an operational manufacturing company. According to him, the establishment of the plant was the result of contributions from several stakeholders, including government institutions, financial institutions, technical experts and members of the company’s team. He also credited banks and distributors for their roles in providing the financial and commercial support needed to establish and sustain the business. Ibrahim Mahama said the journey of Dzata Cement demonstrated that major industrial projects could be developed by Ghanaian entrepreneurs when they receive the necessary financial, technical and institutional support. He noted that the company’s growth over the past five years reflected the importance of collaboration between the private sector and public institutions in promoting local industrialisation.
