'I was beaten for coming home late' - Nana Akua Addo breaks silence on marriage crisis

Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo has taken to social media to share her side of the story after videos of her and her husband in a heated altercation trended online.
In a video shared on TikTok and sighted by GhanaWeb, Nana Akua Addo, who went live on the same social media platform on October 6, 2026, detailed the trauma she has allegedly been going through in her home.
The fashion icon revealed that the nightmare at her home has been ongoing for some years, explaining why she was not often seen at events, particularly red-carpet shows in the country.
Nana Akua Addo reportedly assaulted by husband
According to Nana Akua Addo, her husband had placed a curfew on her, adding that she was often subjected to heavy beatings whenever she went against the rule.
“Some of you kept asking why you don't see me at red-carpet events. The thing is that I am on a curfew, and anytime I go out and come back after 10 PM, I am always beaten.
“I can't fight these battles, and I have been doing all these things all these years just because I want to get the money and come out of it,” she said.
Nana Akua Addo additionally alleged that her husband was fond of preventing her from securing ambassadorial deals.
“He used to prevent me from getting any deals that came my way. But because his family came to ambush me, I left the home for about a month, and that was how I was able to go to Milan and Nigeria.”

Nana Akua Addo also shared how she lost her child during pregnancy, alleging that it was due to poor medical care.
“When I was pregnant, he refused to give me money so I could go to the hospital. So I got eclampsia at the seventh month. And it was either they save the baby or me. When he came to visit me in the hospital, I asked for GH¢200, and he told me he would send it as mobile money.
“I made him aware that I couldn't operate the phone if he sent mobile money because they had placed drips in my veins. He called his mother to the hospital, and she came to fight me, insulted me, and even said some harsh words to me. Three days after the incident, I lost my baby,” she added.
