Tullow Oil sells first Jubilee crude cargo to Sentuo Refinery

Tullow Oil has started selling crude from its Jubilee and Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) fields to refineries in Ghana, creating a new commercial channel for locally produced crude. The first cargo was sold earlier this year to Sentuo Oil Refinery, Tullow Chief Financial Officer Richard Miller disclosed during a virtual meeting with investors on the company’s half-year results. Responding to questions about efforts to get more Jubilee crude refined locally, Miller described the development as a major achievement for Ghana’s oil sector. “This is a fantastic achievement looking at what has happened in Ghana’s oil sector over the years,” he said. Miller said the sale was conducted on a purely commercial basis, with mechanisms also put in place to support a favourable refinancing package for the initiative. He also pointed to Sentuo’s growing role in Ghana’s crude market, saying the refinery has become a major buyer of crude from Tullow and other partners operating Ghana’s oil fields. “Sentuo Oil has become one of the prolific buyers of crude not only from Tullow Oil alone but also from other partners on Ghana’s oil fields,” he said. The development comes as Tullow projects 14 crude liftings in 2026, comprising 11 cargoes from Jubilee and three from the TEN fields. Tullow lifted six cargoes in the first half of the year and plans to lift eight more in the second half.Source: mynewsgh.com
