Nana Akua Addo speaks on turning setbacks into success

Ghanaian fashion icon and media personality Nana Akua Addo has opened up about the resilience that kept her going after her acting career failed to take off. Speaking in an interview with TitbitAfrica, she explained that her two daughters became the biggest motivation behind her decision to persevere despite setbacks, criticism, and public ridicule. “I have no reason to give up. Movie didn’t give me the chance, and I had no reason because I have two young daughters. I didn’t know what to tell them. I started with movies and I didn’t want to look like I was a failure as a mother. I wanted to use myself as an example,” she said. 'I was beaten for coming home late' - Nana Akua Addo breaks silence on marriage crisis According to her, although acting did not work out, she refused to let that define her and instead found success in the fashion industry. “So for me, my daughters were my motivational factors. I had to push, and I just had to succeed through fashion. If movies didn’t work for me, that’s how God works. Sometimes you think you have the blueprints and that something is meant for you, but you don’t know the plans that God has for you,” she stated. Nana Akua Addo added that she remained focused despite harsh criticism, stressing that she is grateful she never allowed the negativity around her. “I thank God that I didn’t stop. I didn’t stop because of the bad critics. I didn’t stop because of people mocking me. Even right now I’m hearing people calling me names, and it’s so funny, and I love all that,” she said. She therefore encouraged anyone pursuing their dreams to remain persistent regardless of the obstacles they encounter. “So yes, let everybody keep pushing their dream. Never stop at anything till you see success,” she advised. @titbitsafrica A mother will always be a mother. She will always look out for her daughters and want the best for them. #nanaakuaaddo I had no reason to give up.
