Mellissa praises Stonebwoy’s R&B versatility on ‘Show me’ song

Mellissa, sister of Ghanaian singer Moliy, has praised Stonebwoy’s versatility, revealing that she was impressed by how the Ghanaian musician effortlessly adapted to the R&B sound on their collaboration.
Speaking in an interview with Capital XTRA, Mellissa explained that the song, show me, was initially not intended to feature Stonebwoy, as they had planned to create a new record together.
However, after listening to the track she had already worked on, Stonebwoy immediately expressed interest in being part of it.

“So we kind of made that record, I did my parts and everything, and as soon as Stonebwoy heard it, actually we were supposed to make something new, but he was like, ‘This is the one. I’m gonna hop on this one,’” she said.
Mellissa said she was impressed by how Stonebwoy took ownership of the record and delivered a performance beyond her expectations.
“And then he smashed it. I didn’t really expect him to own it so much. Obviously, I know how versatile he is, I’m fully aware of that, but I didn’t really expect him to own it so much,” she added.
According to Mellissa, she was particularly surprised by Stonebwoy’s R&B abilities, considering his reputation as a dancehall and Afrobeats artiste.
“I didn’t know he was that rooted in his R&B,” she said, adding, “You know, dancehall artiste, I’m like, ‘Yo, that’s kind of insane.’”
