Adamus Ladies Association organises free breast cancer screening for Kwame Nkrumah SHS

As part of activities to mark the 2026 Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Adamus Ladies Association, in collaboration with Adamus Resources Limited, has organized a two-day outreach and free breast cancer screening exercise for students of Kwame Nkrumah Senior High School at Nsein in the Nzema East Municipality of Western Region.

The exercise, held from Tuesday, October 6 to Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the school's assembly hall and infirmary, forms part of the company's commitment to improving healthcare delivery in its catchment area.

The team, led by the President of the Adamus Ladies Association, Hannah Chemel, sensitized and screened over 425 female students on the importance of self-examination and early detection of breast cancer.

During the screening, 16 students were referred for further medical examination and evaluation.

The Association says it remains committed to supporting the referred students through the referral process while ensuring their privacy and well-being.

The school authorities commended the Association for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention.

The Association noted that breast cancer awareness must start early, stressing that "together, we can save lives through early detection."
