Nana Akua Addo’s daughter declines to go with mother after custody ruling

The domestic abuse case between Ghanaian fashion personality Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, has taken another turn after one of their daughters, Jesusa, reportedly refused to move in with her mother despite a court ruling granting the fashion icon custody of their two children.
In a video circulating on social media, Nana Akua Addo was seen confronting the situation as she attempted to take custody of the children following a court session in which her husband was remanded for two weeks.
The tense encounter shows Jesusa visibly upset and arguing with her mother, raising questions about the strained relationship between them as the couple’s marital dispute continues.
At the beginning of the video, Nana Akua Addo was heard speaking to someone in the compound of their home, asking, “Have you seen what the guy has done?”
Jesusa, who appears angry, immediately challenged her mother and demanded an explanation.
“What did he do, I’m speaking to you, what did you do?” she angrily asks Nana Akua Addo.
The confrontation escalated when an unidentified man at the scene asks Jesusa whether she intends to beat her mother.

In response, the young girl claims that her mother has been physically abusive towards her since childhood and questions why she should not have the right to retaliate.
“She has been beating me ever since I was a kid. So don’t I have the right?” Jesusa asks.
The man then attempted to calm the situation by explaining that even if her mother had treated her wrongly, that would not justify her hitting her in return.
“Two wrongs cannot make a right. The fact that your mother corrected you does not mean she hates you. She may have been wrong in how she handled the situation, and perhaps her approach did not sit well with you,” the man says.
Nana Akua Addo appears to agree with the man’s explanation before turning her attention to what she believes is the role of her husband’s family in the dispute.
According to the fashion personality, her daughter’s paternal relatives are influencing her badly.
“They are only weaponising you, using you. I told you whatever is happening between me and your daddy has nothing to do with you,” Nana Akua Addo says.
Jesusa, however, continued to challenge her mother, alleging that the fashion icon is afraid because she knows she will tell the truth about what is happening.
Background to Nana Akua Addo’s custody battle
The incident comes days after Harold Duodu Norman was remanded into custody for two weeks following a court session on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
During the same proceedings, the court granted Nana Akua Addo custody of the couple’s two daughters as arrangements are made to protect their welfare.
The fashion personality, whose legal name is Rosemond Akua Adobea, had earlier petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over alleged physical, emotional and economic abuse by her husband.
The allegations remain under investigation and have not been conclusively established in court.
