The Accra Sports Stadium pitch remains in fairly good condition following the ShattaFest 2026 concert, headlined by dancehall artiste Shatta Wale on October 17, 2026.
The pitch was covered with protective sheets to prevent turf damage, as thousands of music fans walked across the covered surface during the event.
After the concert, National Sports Authority (NSA) officials began removing sections of the pitch cover, revealing areas where the grass appeared faded.

However, most of the pitch remains in good condition, with minimal renovation work seemingly required to restore the entire surface for football activities.
NSA officials have already begun work at the stadium as they seek to prepare it for Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Somalia.
The concert attracted music fans from across the country, who filled the stadium to show their support for Shatta Wale.
The dancehall artiste delivered an energetic performance that thrilled the audience.
